About Me
It has been an exciting 25 years since I decided to make my way in Canada by making and selling down quilts and pillows. Down and feathers is my specialty, custom sizes has proved to be a greatly appreciated feature in this business. Since we joined the internet we have been favorably surprised by the exposure it has provided this small cottage industry.
I live on beautiful Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. My early life in Sweden included studies in sewing and pattern making. Sewing, dying fabrics and other crafts were a big part of my life. Practicality took over and so I ended up taking schooling to work in the healthcare field.
After 6 years in the hospital environment, adventure lured me out traveling and a couple of years later I arrived in Canada. From the very start in 1980, I saw that here was a market for down quilts. As I had picked up the "know-how" to build quilts/comforters on my visits in Switzerland, I decided this is what I'll be doing here.
My line of products grew to include Quillows, a down and feather quilt that folds into a pillow, and here my experience in dying fabric came in handy. All fabrics are hand dyed and painted or printed with dye. The dye stamps are individually hand cut.
